ITSMf Malaysia 2010 Conference
itSMF Malaysia have signed an MOU, appointing Event Management Company, Benjamin & Khor Sdn Bhd as supporters to assist itSMF Malaysia Society manage the conference project. All payments are required to be transferred to this account.
This takes effect from 2nd Aug, 2010 until the conference project completes.
APMG International, launched it’s APMG Kuala Lumpur Office
APMG International, launched it’s APMG KL office today in Malaysia.
itSMF M’sia were invited to be part of this auspicious event.
Representing APMG International was CEO Richard Pharro, and the country Manager for Malaysia, Mr Choong Mun-Kit. It was also graced by MDeC, Multimedia Corp. of Malaysia, CEO Dato Badlisham Ghazali.

itSMF M’sia attends ISACA Malaysia Chapter event.
Members of itSMF Malaysia who are also ISACA Malaysia members, attended the event on 11 May, 2 to 5p.m., at Sime Darby Convention Centre, Bukit Kiara, K.Lumpur.
This was on Personal Data Protection Bill ’09, which ties to Security Mgt, part of Service Design in our ITIL v3 framework.
THE OBJECTIVES OF THE SEMINAR AND DISCUSSION FORUM
1. To inform, educate professional association members and the public on the Bill and the status of the Bill
2. To create awareness of the impact of the Bill
3. To invite discussion on the Bill and an opportunity to seek more information about the Bill

Around 150 over participants attended, and it was a good event. We hope to attend more related functions, and encourage more members to visit ISACA’s activities.
*ITSMFI and ISACA have a MOU as sister organizations internationally. In M’sia, we also have aSociety mutual friendship as directors of itSMFI IEB are also on the ISACA USA BOD.
MSTB’s annual conference, Softec2010
Kuala Lumpur - itSMF M’sia attended MSTB’s annual conference, Softec2010. This year’s theme was “Bridging the Gap”. Details of MSTB, “Malaysian Software Testing Board” can be found at http://www.mstb.org/
More than 300 participants attended the event at Crown Plaza KL, over 3 days. They were from higher education, universities, government firms, software development, System Analysts, Business analysts, software and computer engineers, and many other business people and comsumers. Many vendors such as Oracle, IBM, Custommedia, SB, Info-trek, Cybersecurity, had booths there.
There were many international speakers, who are world class computer software architects, engineers, scientists, and people who made ARPANET become The internet happen. Details of the speakers, activities of the event can be viewed at http://www.mstb.org/softec2010/
On the first opening day was the conference and panel discussion. Over the next 2days, there were workshops and clinics, tutorials for the public attendees. For itSMF M’sia, as software management is a part of ITSM, we found the courses not only about software development, but also on managing the technology framework.

itSMF M’sia speaks at BCM Institute’s WCC
ITSM Society of Malaysia representative Michael Kum, spoke at the World Continutiy Conference organized by BCM Institute, in Kuala Lumpur recently.

Our effort is to promote ITSM to as many people as possible, and this time we participated to highlight some of the inter-related scope of processes that are similar between the two.
The BCM Institute’s annual World Continuity Congress is organized yearly, and the also run the Meet the Experts sessions every 2-3 months once in Klang valley. The congress brings together delegates and professionals to network and update each other on the latest Business Continuity practices. Among distinguished participants were Y.B. Tuan Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof, Deputy Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Madam Wee HN of MDeC, Hjh Noraishah Omar, Executive Director, NISA Advanced Solution Sdn Bhd,and many more.
